Jeffrey Scott Ellis

Jeff is a Portland, Oregon native who has been painting for 13 years. After graduating from Oregon State University in 2009, he traded a painting for a one way plane ticket to Paris, France, where he began studying art full time. As a resident artist of 59 Rivoli, he was surrounded by international artists who helped inspire some of the details still seen in his work today.

Inspiration for his work is extrapolated from fashion, street culture, existing art movements, and the mental health struggles he has navigated through personally. Works of his hang in homes across the globe, from Paris, Madrid, Brussels, London, San Francisco, and New York to name a few.

When asked why he creates art, Jeff said, “If I can inspire anyone, I hope it is the person who questions reality and feels the need to escape that reality through the use of creative processes.”
